How to Connect?

Connection with USB Audio Interfaces (Recommended)

The diagram above shows you how to connect your guitar into your device. Android or iOS device with a USB audio interface. USB connections are recommended by Deplike. The reason is that they offer much lower audio latency compared to the analog interfaces. Which means, they let you hear what you play immediately.

Your phone and an OTG Cable (USB Converter)

To connect your guitar into your Android or iOS device with a USB interface, you will need an OTG cable. Most USB audio interfaces have a USB A (Regular USB) cable to make it possible to connect to a computer. Today, smartphones have USB slots of either USB-C, Micro-USB, or Apple’s Lightning USB. To connect them to your phone or tablet, you will need an OTG. Depending on your device, you may need a different type of OTG. They are easy to obtain nowadays. Just ask your local tech shop or Google it like “Micro-USB OTG”, “Type-C OTG” or “Lightning OTG”, etc.

USB Guitar Connector (USB Audio Interface)

Once your USB Audio interface is connected to your Android or iOS device, all you need to do is to plug your guitar into the interface’s input slot and plug an output device (headphones or small speakers or amplifiers or anything you listen to music through) to the output jack of the interface. Some interfaces may have multiple input slots, Deplike supports a single input channel. So, try plugging your guitar into different input slots of your interface to find which one will work with Deplike. Generally,  that’s Input-1.

Connection with Analog Interfaces (Not Recommended)

The diagram above shows you how to connect your guitar into your Android or iOS device with an analog interface. Analog connections are not recommended by Deplike because they may cause audio latency (your sound coming late). They can also cause some unwanted noises like audio feedback, squeaks, and snatches.

Analog Guitar Connector

Almost all analog interfaces have a 3.5mm aux jack (just like headphones) to connect it to your phone through its headphone jack. If your Android or iOS device does not have a headphone jack, you should use a jack to USB converter. Ideally, they should come in the same box with your device. Once your interface is connected to your Android or iOS device, all you need to do is to plug your guitar into the interface’s input slot and plug an output device (headphones or small speakers or amplifiers or anything you listen to music through) to the output jack of the interface.
